Kim Holwerda has been an associate of Jenison Psychological Services since 2005. She received her master's degree from Western Michigan University in December of 1998. She has fifteen years of clinical experience in the field of mental health. Presently, she works at Spectrum Health in addition to her private practice. Her special areas of interest include working with patients and families dealing with chronic illness and working with adolescent girls who are struggling on their way to adulthood. She is married and has one child.

Some comments from Kim about her approach to therapy:

I believe that therapy provides a unique opportunity for an individual to experience a safe environment in which to explore not only those things with which they are struggling but also their strengths and gifts. It is through the healing, safe relationship with the therapist that change can occur in a person's life. Emotional health and peace occur as a result of bringing the pieces together which are currently broken apart. I see a broad range of concerns in my practice from medical issues, to adolescents struggling to mature to adults dealing with depression, grief or anxiety.
